Carnivals offer variety in atmosphere. I think Ray Bradbury began the scary carny trope; I need some more research on this fact. I know the ball rolled faster after Bradbury; many have jumped and rolled on this same big ball. As a writer, you can only jump on and try to do The Twist like Chubby Checker’s dance on Hank Ballard’s song. Tattoos went mainstream, so the rebellious culture may have to wear none. Tattoos still have value as symbols; if they symbolize you more than original artist. If you lack proper purpose; you may as well belay the pain. I take advantage of their, no longer novel, novelty in my novel for needed purpose.
