I marry history to trivia, in my novel, and I believe I might match-make the two above.  John Bartram is a notable botanist and made impact on Florida history. Jim Stafford performed the  novelty song, Wildwood Weed (written by Don Bowman).

Bartram explored Florida with his son, Puc Puggy. The son’s name was William, but the Seminole chief, Cowkeeper, called him — Puc Puggy (Flower Hunter). The Bartram’s had interest in medicinal plants, so joking about them searching for the Wildwood Weed is somewhat true.
