My cult hunts for ingredients to a genetic memory cocktail; they need to improve their present recipe. The quirkier elements of my novel may distract from the Thriller element.

Part of editing is focusing on focus—What do you need to highlight? My novel crosses into the Mystery, Thriller & Suspense genre, but I’m not sure I highlight that feature enough. It’s tougher to gauge whether I should sell my novel as a thriller.

Part of the problem with using a fertility cult is that sex distracts readers. This sexual element distracts from the thriller element.

Amazon list’s Dan Brown’s novel, The Da Vinci Code as genre fiction and my novel surely falls in that broad category and my book also can fall partially into the Mystery category. Thomas Pynchon’s, Inherent Vice, is listed as a Psychological Thriller on Amazon and my novel could compare to that.

I need to figure out my metadata tags and thriller is an option. A humorous, contemporary, satire, with a thriller element, would partially work for a description. but I compare best with novels by Tom Robbins and this is how Amazon ranks “Still Life with Woodpecker and Jitterbug Perfume falls under the same categories—mine fits these categories. too.
